How Interest-Free Solar and Battery Storage Works

Getting solar panels and battery storage for your Scottish farm or business is a clear, step-by-step process. We arrange no-obligation surveys and quotes for paid installations, and the installation itself is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. This page walks you through what happens from your first enquiry to a generating system on your roof or land.

1. Enquire

Complete the online quote form or call us. Tell us about your farm or business, your site, and what you are interested in — rooftop solar, ground-mount, battery storage, or a combination.

2. No-obligation survey

We arrange a survey of your roofs or land and review your electricity consumption. The survey is carried out with an understanding of agricultural and commercial properties and their electrical setups.

3. Written quote

You receive a written quote for a paid installation, including system size, battery options where relevant, and finance options. Interest-free finance is available for farms and commercial properties up to £30,000, subject to status.

4. Installation

If you decide to proceed, our MCS-certified partner installs your system. Installation is planned around your operations to minimise disruption. The system is commissioned and handed over ready to generate.

Step 1: Enquire

The first step is to get in touch. You can complete the online quote form on this site or call us on 0141 230 0198. The more you can tell us about your property — the type of farm or business, the roofs or land you think might be suitable, and roughly how much electricity you use — the more useful our initial response will be.

We work with farms, estates and commercial businesses across Scotland, so we are used to questions about cattle sheds, grain stores, workshops, cold stores, and three-phase supplies. You do not need to have a system design in mind; we help with that.

Step 2: The no-obligation survey

We arrange a survey of your site. This involves looking at the roofs or land you have available, checking orientation and shading, reviewing your existing electrical setup, and understanding your consumption patterns. For farms and businesses, this also means considering how and when you use electricity — for milking, refrigeration, lighting, heating, or machinery — so that any proposed system is sized to your actual needs.

The survey carries no obligation. You will not be charged for it, and you are under no to proceed at any point.

Step 3: Your written quote

After the survey, you receive a written quote for a paid installation. The quote sets out:

You can take the quote away, compare it, and decide in your own time. There is no pressure to proceed.

Step 4: Installation by our MCS-certified partner

If you decide to go ahead, the installation is carried out by our MCS-certified partner. Using an MCS-certified installer means the work meets recognised industry standards for solar installation. Installation is planned around your farm or business operations to minimise disruption — rooftop work on sheds and units is typically non-disruptive, and ground-mount work is scheduled to avoid sensitive periods where relevant.

Once the system is installed and commissioned, it is handed over ready to generate. You will be shown how it works and how to monitor generation.

A solar and battery system is a long-term asset. Panels have a long working life, and batteries are designed for many years of cycling. As with any electrical installation, periodic inspection and maintenance are recommended to keep the system performing well. Our partner can advise on ongoing care at handover.

Who we work with

This service is for farms, estates and commercial businesses in Scotland only. We do not serve residential homeowners. If you run a farm, an estate, or a commercial business — whether arable, livestock, dairy, a workshop, a unit, or a combination — and you have roofs or land that could host solar, we can help arrange a survey and quote.

Frequently asked questions

Is the survey really no-obligation?+

Yes. The survey and the quote that follows carry no obligation. You can decide not to proceed at any stage, and you will not be charged for the survey or quote.

How long does the process take from enquiry to installation?+

Timelines depend on survey availability, your decision-making, and the installation schedule of our MCS-certified partner. We will give you an indicative timeline with your quote.

Will installation disrupt my farm or business operations?+

Installations are planned around your operations. Rooftop work on sheds and units is typically non-disruptive, and ground-mount work is scheduled to avoid cropping or livestock periods where relevant.

Who actually installs the system?+

We arrange surveys and quotes for paid installations. The installation itself is carried out by our MCS-certified partner, ensuring the work meets recognised industry standards.
